Bio

Massimo Mancini is the general manager of Teatro di Sardegna since 2015, the region’s leading cultural organization. Under his direction, it produced acclaimed works like Macbettu (Ubu Award 2017). Teatro di Sardegna is a partner in 14 international projects including In Situ, Stronger Peripheries, and AI4Future.

Since 1992, Mancini has worked with major theatre festivals and was on the IETM board (2003–2009). He co-founded EU networks like Junge Hunde and DBM Danse Bassin Méditerranée, and developed Miniatures, a Med cooperation project with its final event at Marseille 2013, European Capital of Culture.

He led CRT Milano until 2001, founded Short Formats and CRT Danza, and curated Milan’s Summer Festival. As cultural advisor for Milan Municipality, he worked with BJCEM, GAI, and Movin’Up. He was artistic director for Cagliari’s 2019 and Nuoro’s 2020 culture capital bids.
