Santamarea is the force of the sea — overwhelming and sweeping — that carries you into a world of drums, electric guitars, synthesizers, choirs, and voices.Fluid and aqueous, yet fiery and youthful, Santamarea are three siblings by blood (Stella, Francesco, and Michele Gelardi) and a sister by choice (Noemi Orlando).
The Santamarea universe was born in Palermo, their hometown, from which they draw inspiration, crafting refined sounds and lyrics with a strong visual and singer-songwriter spirit.Their sound evokes the alt-pop of The Last Dinner Party and Florence and The Machine, as well as the alternative/indie tones of bands like Arcade Fire and Alt-J.
The band’s first single, “Santamarea” (released in May 2023), won the XXXIV Edition of Musicultura and was followed by the release of “Acqua Bagnami” (chosen by Etro as the soundtrack for their Fashion Week show on September 20, 2023) and “Splendere” (April 2024).
While awaiting the release of their debut album in January 2026 and their first tour, the band will perform live at the Fifty Lab Festival in Brussels this coming November.
