Thursday kicks off with FILMUSP: Unveiling Relationality in the Golden Age of Italian Film Music, a fascinating deep dive with professors Maurizio Corbella and Alessandro Bratus into Italian cinema’s golden age, tracing the creative networks behind icons like Morricone, Rota, and Piccioni from the 1950s through the 1970s.
The conversation evolves into the roundtable Overcoming Nostalgia: Contemporary Film Music Production in Europe, asking how European film scoring’s legendary spirit can ignite today’s creative landscape with renewed courage and global impact.
Then the multi-award winning music supervisor Ian Neil takes the stage with his keynote More than just “music for films”: supervision as a creative and cultural reflection, hosted by Markus Linde, sharing career-defining moments from over 30 years collaborating with visionary directors like Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn on projects spanning Rocketman to The Gentleman.
Professor Joost Vervoort, academic games developer and metalcore musician, explores the potential of games and music to shape new collective futures in his keynote Playing the Architectures of Possibility: Games for Building New Futures.
Thursday closes with the conversation Music In Games – The Human Factor, examining what it takes to build stronger bridges between music and games industries. This session, hosted by Katariina Sorsa, features game creator and director Massimo Guarini, German music composer and producer Mona Mur, SIAE’s licensing specialist Francesco Grossi, and investments expert Thierry Baujard.
